Fires and water damage cause annual costs of several billion euros in German private households. From an economic point of view, the restoration of this damage offers an interesting market for specialized companies.
Nowhere else in Germany does it burn as often as in Schleswig-Holstein – almost twice as often as in Bavaria. According to the German Insurance Association (GDV), around 200,000 fire damages and around EUR 1.2 billion in costs were incurred throughout Germany in 2018.
In the case of water damage, the numbers are even higher. Tap water piping damage in the private sector results in costs of more than two billion euros annually.
